In today's class we:

  • Went through the answers to quiz 1
  • Did another re-cap of forms of emphasis
  • Looked at other features of interpretive reading
  • Discussed the dates of the quiz 
  • Discussed one date change (Monday 28th will replace Tuesday 29th)
  • Listened to The Last Rung on the Ladder and answered questions on it
  • Did a drawing exercise based on the following extract:
She let go and dropped the second I told her to. She came straight down like a knife. It seemed to me that she dropped forever, her gold pigtails standing straight up from her head, her eyes shut, her face as pale as china. She didn't scream. Her hands were locked in front of her lips, as if she was praying.

  • Did an interpretation exercise (see below)
  • Spent time in groups preparing for the presentation
