In today's class we:

• Introduced 3 new vowel sounds:       /əʊ/  boat               AND                /ɒ/   stop/want                  AND                 /ɜː/  shirt 
• Did a translation exercise where we converted the sentence ("The cheeky monkey" into IPA form)
• Did a similar exercise where you wrote the IPA form of the sentence and someone else in class translated it           
• Did exercises 16.2 
• Spent some time in our groups discussing the presentation 


• Did exercise 20.1-20.3
• Introduced 3 new vowel sounds:     /ɔɪ/   toy, coin             AND            /ɔː/    for. caught, law                AND                     / aʊ /     sound, brown
